Acceptance sounds passive until you watch what it frees up.
A flight is delayed four hours. One passenger spends all four at the desk, arguing with someone who cannot change the weather. Another accepts it inside ten minutes, finds a chair, and reads most of a book.
Same delay, same powerlessness. The difference is where the attention went. Accepting your position is not approving of it — it is declining to spend the whole day at the desk, so that your eyes are free for the door when it finally opens.
