Nobody warns you that the reward for doing something well is more of it.
The good year brings a volume of admin the bad year never generated. More people want time. More decisions arrive that only you can make. There is a particular exhaustion available exclusively to people whose plans worked.
There is also a strange flatness on arrival that almost nobody mentions, because complaining about it sounds obscene. The thing worked at for six years happens on a Tuesday, and by Thursday it is simply the situation.
Ease with all of that has less to do with capacity than with expecting it — knowing in advance that the summit comes with weather.
