Anyone who has recorded anything knows the trap. Take three was good. Take ten is not better than take three, it's just later and more tired, and by take fourteen you can no longer hear the thing at all.

Perfection isn't a place further along the road that you keep failing to reach. It's a horizon, which means it recedes at exactly your walking speed. The useful question was never whether something is finished but whether it's finished enough to be of use to somebody, and that one has an actual answer.
