Knowledge transfers cleanly. Here's the form, here's the number, here's the trick with the pipe.

Wisdom doesn't. It usually arrives too early to be heard. Somebody twenty years ahead tells you the thing at twenty-six and you file it away as a platitude, and then at thirty-four you're standing in a car park and it lands.

Which means most of it gets handed over on faith, with no visible effect at the time.

The practical version is to say it once, plainly, and stop. Repeated, it turns into a lecture and gets refused on those grounds alone. Said once and dropped, it sits quietly until the person is ready to pick it up.
