You cannot laugh on purpose. It is one of the very few things a person genuinely can't manufacture.
What you can do is get near it — the sitcom episode you have seen four times, the friend who does the impression of your consultant, the group chat that is beneath everyone's dignity.
Once it starts the body takes over entirely. The diaphragm goes, the ribs work, the shoulders finally come down from where they have been living for weeks.
None of that is a treatment. It is just the one thing an illness has no idea how to interrupt.
