Recovery rarely announces itself. There's no morning where a bell rings and somebody hands you a certificate.
What happens instead is that you carry the shopping in from the car in one trip and only notice on the way back down that you hadn't planned the route or braced for anything. The noticing comes late, days or weeks after the event, which is why so much of getting better feels like nothing at all while it is happening. The good part is real. It just tends to be reported by a version of you who has already moved on to something else.
