Affirmation to Fear I walk into every situation expecting the best.

I walk into every situation expecting the best.

Expecting the best isn't a prediction. It's a stance you take at the door, before you have any information at all.

Two people walk into the same meeting. One has decided the room is neutral and curious. The other has decided it is a jury. They will hear the identical silence and read it in opposite directions.

The room didn't change. What changed is what each of them was scanning for, and scanning is never a neutral act — it finds what it went looking for.

You can't control the outcome. You do get some say in which version you walk in carrying.
