Evening classes are full of tired people. That's the thing worth noticing about them: the welding certificate, the accountancy module, done after a full shift and a bus ride.

Development isn't only skills. A good deal of it is temperament. Getting slightly better at being interrupted, at hearing criticism, at not needing the last word in a disagreement.

The future tense is a promise made to someone you haven't met yet. They'll be the one collecting on it, and they won't remember which evening you began.
