Money is abundant to me.

There is a decent test for abundance that has nothing to do with the balance: what can you give away without checking first? A round of drinks. Twenty pounds to a cousin. An afternoon.

That threshold moves with the month rather than with the salary. The same person is open-handed in April and careful in November, and neither is a verdict on them.

Where it sits today is only information. Oddly, it tends to rise a little before the income does.
