Worry impersonates preparation extremely well, which is why it's so hard to put down. It feels productive. It has the texture of work.
The test is whether anything comes out of it. Real preparation ends in a written list, a call made, a bag by the door.
Worry ends where it started, at midnight, having produced nothing except a slightly worse version of you for tomorrow.
The fear underneath is reasonable and doesn't need arguing with. It's the fourth circuit round the same track that can be declined.
