Conditions and boundaries get confused constantly. Loving someone without conditions doesn't mean accepting whatever they do. Parents manage both at once every day, adoring a child while refusing to let them near the road.
What has no conditions is the underneath part: the fact that they remain someone you want well, even during a stretch when you can't be in the same room as them.
Held that way it is less a feeling than a fact you keep returning to. Feelings come and go on their own schedule. This one is closer to a standing decision you don't renegotiate every time you're annoyed.
