Usually it turns out to be small things. Being right in a group chat. The last word with a relative who is not going to change. Reading a message again at midnight to check whether it still means what you thought at nine. None of those are worth what they cost, and all of them are hard to put down.
Peace isn't some grand alternative to conflict. It is what is left over once you stop paying for arguments you were never going to win.
