There are probably two or three messages on your phone you haven't answered, from people who won't hold it against you. That is the evidence, and it's still sitting there.

Love is nearly impossible to feel from inside a bad stretch. The receiving equipment goes down first. What doesn't go down is the fact of it — people still checking, still leaving you alone in the particular way that means waiting rather than gone.

You don't have to feel it today for it to hold. It isn't a sensation you're failing to generate. It's a set of people doing things whether or not you can register them.
