There's a specific silence people know well. The meeting where you almost said it, somebody else said it twenty minutes later, and the room agreed with them.

What stops most of us isn't fear of being wrong. It is a suspicion that the thought is too obvious to be worth the airtime, which is exactly what everyone else is thinking about their own.

Obvious to you usually means you got there faster, not that everybody got there.

Say the plain version early. Half of what passes for insight is somebody being willing to state what the room already half-knew.
