Watch a departure gate when a flight is cancelled. Most of the queue is furious. One person shrugs, finds a seat, opens a book, and it is not serenity, it is calibration. They have had a worse week than this one and their scale got rebuilt.
Nobody would choose the rebuilding. The scale is a real possession afterwards, though, and it stays.
Small things may bother you less on the far side of this. Not because you hardened. Because you will have better information about what constitutes a bad day.
