Perfect health is by birthright.

Nothing about a body was earned. You were handed a set of genes, a century, a country with or without a functioning hospital, and none of it came in exchange for anything you did.

Which cuts the way you would want it to on a hard day. If health was never earned, then illness was never deserved. Nobody is being marked. People who suggest otherwise are frightened, and are trying to make the world tidier than it is.

Claiming it as yours means refusing the accounting — refusing the idea that a body is a verdict on the person inside it.
