Thanking the lows is a large ask on a day when you're inside one. Grief doesn't feel like a gift and shouldn't have to be described as one.
What's true is duller and more useful: the same system produces both. There's no version of you that gets the good news at full volume and the losses at half. Numbing runs across the board — anyone who's had a flat, medicated, or exhausted stretch knows the joy went quiet too.
So the range is the arrangement. Not a lesson, just the terms.
If you're feeling something sharp today, you're at least not switched off.
