Most difficulty is a function of unfamiliarity. The first time anyone handles a probate form, a diagnosis, a redundancy, all the energy goes into working out what kind of thing they're even looking at.
Some of this will get boring eventually. Not because it stopped being serious, but because you'll have handled a version of it before and will know where to start.
