*Effortlessly* is the word to be suspicious of. Things rarely flow in without effort, and a promise that they will sets you up to conclude you did it wrong when they don't.

Strip that out and something workable remains: what you look for is disproportionately what you find. Decide to notice generosity and you'll start clocking small kindnesses that were always there — the driver who let you merge, the shopkeeper who remembered.

Nothing magical occurred. Your filter changed, and the filter was always the variable.
