Whatever you steep a mind in becomes the place it returns to when nobody's steering. A week after a good trip you keep landing back on the same stretch of harbour, unbidden, halfway through doing something else. A week after a difficult meeting you keep landing back in the meeting.
No discipline is involved in either. The default channel is just whatever has been played most recently and most often.
So it's partly editable, on a slow schedule. Not by deciding where to drift — that isn't how drifting works — but by noticing what the last hour before sleep gets filled with.
That's the material that seems to get played back most.
