The traffic runs both ways, and the body is usually the faster lane.
Reasoning is slow. By the time you have talked yourself round to a sensible view, the body has been at full tilt for four minutes and your hands knew before you did.
Walking works in about twenty. Not because anything is resolved — the problem sits exactly where you left it — but because a body moving rhythmically sends steady signals upward that no emergency is currently in progress, and thought slows to match the feet.
Which is why the useful thought turns up at the far end of the walk and never once at the desk.
