Affirmation to Gratitude I am thankful for my safety

I am thankful for my safety

Safety is only ever felt as an absence, which is why it's nearly impossible to be grateful for on schedule. Nobody walks around noticing they aren't in danger.

But the whole shape of your day rests on it. You planned tomorrow. You left your things somewhere and assumed they'd still be there. You slept without listening for sounds. Each of those is a quiet bet that the world will behave, and most people alive place that bet at worse odds.

This isn't comfortable to sit with for long. A moment is enough.

You made plans for next week. That's the evidence.
