A message goes unanswered for three days and the mind builds a whole theory: they have gone off you, something was said, you are being managed at a distance.
The true answer, roughly ninety per cent of the time, is that they read it in a queue, meant to reply properly, and then a child was sick. Generous readings aren't naive. On hit rate they beat suspicious ones comfortably, because most people are not running a campaign against you, they are just tired and behind.
What you think about other people also has to live in your head all day. Worth choosing the version that is both kinder and more often correct.
