I am trusting in my relationship.

Trust reads like a state and behaves like a verb. It is something done again each time, usually in small ways: handing over the passwords, letting them drive, not checking on the thing they said they would handle.

The unglamorous version is the best one. Not a dramatic leap of faith, just declining to verify, over and over, until you forget you ever did.

There is risk in it and pretending otherwise doesn't help. Trusting a person is a bet placed with real money.

The evidence for the bet is sitting right there in the last several years. It is worth reading back occasionally.
