*Continue* is the demanding word. Beginning is easy; nobody struggles to be considerate in month two.

Long affection lives in maintenance, and maintenance is invisible by design. The tea made without being asked. Noticing they've gone quiet and asking about it before it becomes a whole Thursday. Taking the bin out on the week that isn't your turn, and not mentioning it afterward.

None of that gets thanked, which is roughly the definition. If you do one deliberate small thing today that they won't notice, you're doing exactly the work that keeps people together for decades. Choose it before you're annoyed with them — that's when it counts double.
