Under load the standards drop and frequency starts to matter more than quality. A ten-minute walk is not the training plan you had in mind, and it does most of what the training plan was for.

Same on the emotional side. One phone call a week to somebody who knows the situation. One evening not spent on the internet.

Unimpressive, and load-bearing.

The real risk in a bad month is the all-or-nothing instinct — that if it can't be done properly there's no point doing it at all. Badly and regularly beats properly and never, by a wide margin.
