The more fun I have, the more money I make.

Fun gets treated as the reward at the end of the productive part, which has it backwards for most people. The good ideas turn up on the walk, in the pub, in the hour that was supposedly wasted. Nobody has ever solved a stuck problem by staring harder at it at eleven at night.

There is also plain social arithmetic. Work arrives through people, people are met while doing things you enjoy, and the person visibly having a good time is the one others remember to call.
