Some friends order for you without asking and get it right, oat, no sugar, extra hot, because they were paying attention on an unremarkable morning three years ago.
That's most of what feeling special is actually made from. Not distinction. Not being better at something than the people nearby. Being held in somebody's attention closely enough that they retained a detail nobody required them to retain.
It runs both ways, too. The fastest route to feeling it is usually to do it: remember that someone had an interview this week, and ask how it went. Specialness turns out to be a thing people mostly manufacture for each other.
