I have unlimited potential

Potential is a strange asset, in that holding it is worth nothing. It becomes something only at the moment it's converted, badly, in public, in a first attempt that isn't good.

Which is how unlimited quietly turns into a burden. It sits there implying an enormous unspent balance, and every year that passes without a withdrawal starts to feel like a growing debt.

The useful move is to spend a little this week. Something small and specific: the class, the first paragraph, the phone call you've been drafting since spring. Potential isn't depleted by use. It's one of the very few things that grows by being drawn on.
