Affirmation to Negativity I release all thoughts that no longer serve me well

I release all thoughts that no longer serve me well

Most of them were useful once, which is exactly why they're so hard to hand back.

A child in an unpredictable house who learns to read a room in half a second has been given something genuinely excellent. It kept them safe, and it worked.

At thirty-eight, in a calm kitchen, that same equipment runs all day and finds threats in a partner's ordinary silence. Nothing is wrong with the machinery. It has simply been left switched on in a building that no longer needs it.

So releasing it isn't a rejection. It's closer to how you'd retire a tool that did years of good work — with some gratitude, and without any obligation to keep carrying it everywhere.
