How a morning goes is often decided the night before by somebody who was tired and did not much care. A kitchen left as it fell. A bag not packed. A shirt discovered at ten past seven to be the wrong shirt.
Grounded is less a mood you wake up already holding than a set of small arrangements made in advance by a version of you who will not be there to benefit. Calm on a Tuesday morning is frequently just a Monday night that ended tidily — a small kindness, posted forward.
