Worry is a process with a purpose. It is trying to solve something in advance, which is a genuinely useful instinct when the thing is solvable — the bag packed by the door at midnight exists because somebody worried usefully.
It goes astray when handed a problem with no available action, because it has no way of handing it back. It keeps running, at cost, on a task with no exit.
So this is less about stopping something bad than about relieving something loyal that has been put on the wrong job.
