Every map in every shopping centre has the same first feature: a dot saying you are here. Without it the rest of the map is decoration.
Acceptance is that dot and nothing more.
It is not approval, it is not giving up, and it does not require you to be at peace with the position. It only requires you to stop arguing about the coordinates.
Most of the exhausting part of a hard stretch is the arguing — the running comparison with where you were in March, or where you had assumed you would be by now. Put the dot down and the same energy is suddenly available for walking.
