People who have been very ill often describe the same small things afterwards. The first shower taken standing up. The taste of cold water. A morning where nothing hurt and they noticed it while it was still happening.
That is a long way from enlightenment as it gets advertised. No mountain, no robes. It is closer to a recalibration of the bottom of the scale, after which ordinary things move up.
Nobody would have chosen the route. But the noticing is real, and it belongs to you rather than to the illness.
