Affirmation to Work I lovingly lift up my coworkers and never put them down.

I lovingly lift up my coworkers and never put them down.

Lifting someone at work is mostly one specific act — saying the name of the person who actually did it, in the room where it counts, when it would have been easy not to.

It costs nothing and people remember it for a decade. Most of us can name the one manager who did it, and the one who let the credit settle quietly on themselves.

The other half is harder, because a certain amount of complaining is how people survive a difficult place together. The line worth holding is not silence. It is not saying the thing you would not repeat if they walked in.
